UKRFERRY Shipping Company is located in Odessa, the center of marine business of Ukraine. Ukraine occupies the central part of Black sea coast line . The population of Ukraine amounts to 49 m. people. Up to 10% of the population is engaged in marine business. Navigation in Odessa area dates back to last century. Presently, more than 50000 marine specialists are working in Ukrainian and foreign shipping companies.
Crew Manning department of the company employs highly qualified specialists with rich experience in marine shipping and crew manning for all kinds of vessels ranging from general-purpose to passenger vessels. We adhere to main Shipowner principles and keep a database of qualified, trained and disciplined Ukrainian seafarers. The specialists man both ships belonging to our Company and other Shipowners.
As a rule, young specialists, alumni of leading marine universities of Ukraine are passing probation on the linear vessels of our Company, which allows us to choose the best seafarers and shore-based marine specialists. At the moment we have a bank of seafaring staff reaching 5000 people. Aged 20 to 50, ranging from ratings to chief officers, they are skilled for working on board ferry vessels, passenger vessels, baulker, general purpose vessels, container vessels, Ro-Ro and refrigerator vessels.
Our seafarers hold all the appropriate certificates/endorsements including STCW certificate to comply with the international rules of Safety and Quality on training and certifying seafarers. We demand our seafaring staff to have a good command of English and to comply with the requirements set out by the Shipowner. While interviewing and preparing the seafaring staff for the forthcoming job, the personnel of the Company would inform the former on any special requirements of the Shipowner, the insurance policy in force, terms and conditions of employment under an individual contract and the law of the country of flag.
Our department is also able to supply special maintenance teams consisting of marine ship-repairing specialists, who make it possible to undertake repairs aboard, without having to put the vessel out of operation. This allows for significant savings for the Shipowner.
Following a request of a Shipowner, we can compile a crew or a part of a crew.
Our good reputation in the market, education, skills, energy and devotion allows us to fulfill any request of the Shipowner (including visa support, booking air-rail tickets, hotel accommodation etc).
